Zebra finch breeding question?

Can I keep a male and female zebra finch in an indoor Aviary together without them breeding? If so, what can they sleep on other than just perches? When I breed them later on can, I keep the offspring in the same cage? I only plan to breed them once. Will offspring breed with each other? The aviary is 3′ x 3′ x 17”. I know it looks like i haven’t done any research, but I’ve been working on this for awhile. I need advice from someone with experience. Can anybody help me? Please answer!

The problem with Zebra Finches is they will always attempt to breed, the only way is not to put in any nesting material or nest baskets/boxes not even for them to roost, just have perches.
This may delay them for a while but not often, to prevent them breeding you could divide the cage ,but to be honest they fret quite easily, this is coming into their breeding season , so it is now or never, unless you have the space because once they start breeding they will go on as long as they can.
